NEKET Camping and Ride Event

Date:  September 8 - 10, 2017.  

The VHC is hosting the annual Victory basin ride to show appreciation for the continued support of the membership throughout the year. There is no additional cost for members. 

Come join us in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom for several days of camping and riding. There are two marked trails as shown on the figure included on this web page and available at the check-in table: the Kirby loop and the Bog loop. You may ride either trail at any time over the three days. On Saturday there will be both Kirby and Bog group rides.  The majority of people ride the Bog loop. On Sunday the majority of people ride the Kirby loop.  Toilet facilities, water and firewood are provided.

Turn onto Victory Road from route 2 in North Concord VT. Go about 4-5 miles and turn left onto Victory Hill Road ( road is dirt, just before Victory Hill Road is a cow farm on the right and an old school house on the left. ) go up big hill, road will split, and stay right . After a small bridge take a right into Walt's driveway by his farm house. The field is outback. Look for signs. Under Vermont Law, an equine activity sponsor is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities that are obvious and necessary, pursuant to 12 V.S.A. section 1039. I understand that the sport of horseback riding and driving is inherently dangerous and that serious injury and death can occur. I understand that participation in equine activities involves necessary risks. I agree that if any harm occurs to my horse or myself or to any equipment that I may use or send to use, I will make no claim against the Vermont Horse Council or any of the Officers, Directors, Trustees, Employees and Volunteers. I further agree to hold the Vermont Horse Council., the Officers, Directors, Trustees, Employees, Volunteers and Landowners free and harmless from any liability, claims, suits or damages of whatsoever kind or nature that may be occasioned by the horses used by me or the negligence of the persons in charge of such horses and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless this organization and individuals against all liability claims, suits, and expenses including attorney fees incurred arising out of any injury to any person or damage to any property caused by me, my horses or attendants. I agree that if I am injured while participating in this event, the Emergency Services personnel treating my injuries may provide a description of the accident, a description of the suspected injury, a description of the treatment administered and information about transport to a hospital to the Vermont Horse Council personnel for the purpose of completing the official Vermont Horse Council Accident/Injury report. This authorization will expire once the information is given to Vermont Horse Council personnel or at the end of the event, whichever is later. I agree that as a condition of acceptance of entry, Vermont Horse Council may use photographs, videos, and or other likenesses of the participant and horse taken while at the event for the promotion, coverage, or benefit of this event and/or the Vermont Horse Council. I have read and agree to abide by all Vermont Horse Council rules, policies, & specifications for this ride as stated in the 2017 Reciprocity Youth Scholarship Ride Entry and Information flyer.
