Registration Equine Industry Summit
20.00

It’s time for the second annual “Equine Industry Summit,” a gathering for all members of the Vermont equine industry together to discuss current events and issues in our state. The Vermont Horse Council continues to spearhead this effort. Collaboration between associations, clubs, and businesses helps strengthen the equine community in Vermont, as well as enhances our ability to promote and defend the viability of the industry.

This year’s agenda focus on “Risk and Reward and includes: an update from the working group focused on developing the “Economic Impact study of Horses in Vermont” study, a speaker panel focused on “Risk and Reward for Equine Businesses”, time for facilitated networking, an update from the state veterinarian, catered lunch and a silent auction. The Risk and Reward speaker panel includes Beth Demas, Attorney at Law; Stuart Farnham, Nationwide Insurance agent; Pam Knights of Knights Communications; Hillary DelRoss of the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing; and Jessica Stewart Riley, Associate Professor of Equine Studies at Vermont Technical College.

New this year will be a silent auction and a business card and brochure table. If you would like to donate an item for the silent auction, please contact one of the organizers listed below. The brochure and business card table is available by donation. You can place your business cards, brochures, or event flyers on this table for others to take. All proceeds from the silent auction and brochure table will go towards the Economic Impact of Horses in Vermont study. This study was selected as the number one priority at last year’s equine summit and progress has been made in moving forward with the study, but it will be extremely costly, so every contribution helps!

The Summit will take place Wednesday, October 25th from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm at Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center, VT. We are asking for a small registration fee of $20 to cover the cost of a catered lunch. Vermont Technical College is conveniently located just one mile from exit 4 on Interstate 89.
