Over 50 members of the equine industry in Vermont gathered on October 26 to hear some words of wisdom and encouragement from Barbara Lindberg, Director of the Equine Business Management Program at Cazenovia College, and to then engage in a series of conversations about issues and opportunities facing the equine industry in Vermont. The day culminated with voting to chose priorities for future attention - resulting in the identification of completing a equine industry economic impact study as a top priority, followed by insurance and liability issues, and creating partnerships among organizations and agencies working with youth.
Notes will be available soon - watch for a link to the VHC website for more details! Thank you to all who helped organize, facilitate and staff the event - and to Vermont Technical College, Poulin Grain and Cargill/ Nutrena for the generous support of this effort.
